Safe Kids Program

The Macoupin County Public Health Department is a member of the Macoupin SafeKids Coalition.  Macoupin County SAFE KIDS is a coalition whose purpose is to reduce injury related morbidity and mortality rates among children ages 0 to 14 in Macoupin County and the surrounding area.  Motor vehicle injuries are the leading cause of injury death.  The objectives of this coalition will be accomplished by collaborating with state and local partners to promote safe lifestyle choices and behaviors such as using motor vehicle safety belts and child safety seats, wearing bicycle helmets and fire safety education.  For more information contact Debbie Link at 217-854-3223, ext. 225 or dlink@mcphd.net.
