Fit for the Future

A FREE walking and nutrition program provided by

University of Illinois Extension and the

Macoupin County Public Health Department

Began the end of August

280 people are participating in this program. Walking is one of the best ways for people to get the 30 minutes (or more) per day of moderate exercise that they need to maintain health.

If you, or someone you know, would like to begin a walking program, you can check out  americaonthemove.org In addition to educational information, this organization provides a free online tracking log for walking and daily fitness tips to help keep you going.

The Macoupin County Public Health Department is determining the need to sponsor an ongoing walking program or offering another Macoupin on the Move program in the future. If you are interested, please contact Beth Groves at 217-854-3223, ext. 244.
