Illinois Breast & Cervical Cancer Program
The Illinois Breast and Cervical Cancer Program offers free mammograms, breast exams, pelvic exams and Pap tests to eligible women. The program is provided for Macoupin County women through the Montgomery County Health Department. Funded cooperatively by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Illinois Department of Public Health, the program was created to provide breast and cervical cancer screening and referrals to low-income, uninsured women. Since the program was launched in Illinois in 1995, nearly 154,000 women have been screened for breast and cervical cancers.
Women may be able to receive free services through the IBCCP if they live in Illinois, do not have insurance, and are 35-64 years of age.
To enroll in IBCCP, women can call the Women’s Health Line at 1-888-522-1282 or TTY (hearing impaired) 1-800-547-0466. The Women’s Health Line will be able to walk women through the eligibility requirements and the screening process.
